John A. Tamiazzo, PhD


John A. Tamiazzo, PhD is a renowned expert in the fields of human potential, neuroscience, health, wellness, and Transpersonal psychology. Transpersonal psychology researches dreams, meditative states, community service, and spiritual issues, integrating both western and eastern psychological principles. In graduate school, John had the good fortune of studying with Elizabeth Kubler Ross, M.D. Swiss psychiatrist, researcher and author of, On Death and Dying. 

Through his counseling work, classes, and workshops, John has helped thousands of individuals improve the quality of their lives with his invaluable insights and methods for living an extraordinary life. His dynamic workshops address: the power of imagery and imagination, positive thinking, changing belief systems, the psychology and physiology of positive and healthy aging, relaxation processes, learning to nurture your miracle brain, and life-changing skills to improve health, wellness, and ameliorate emotional and physical pain.


His distinguished professional background  includes positions as Program Director for three Community Mental Health and Research Centers and Executive Director for two Traumatic Head and Brain Injury Facilities in the southern California area. 

He has been a long-time instructor with Santa Barbara City College's program for the older adult, with over 20,000 students attending his psychology, alternative medicine, pain management, health, & wellness classes. He taught for the University of California Santa Barbara Counseling Program for 15 years. Thousands of professionals including physicians, psychologists, marriage and family therapists, licensed clinical social workers, and other health and mental health professionals have trained with John and have been certified in his transformative work.

John has presented his workshops at colleges, universities, institutes, corporations, businesses, social services agencies, medical clinics, professional conferences, and spiritual centers in the USA, Scandinavia, and Canada. His repertory of classes include:
